Mandalika MotoGP Special Position for Valentino Rossi Revealed
Valentino Rossi has retired from MotoGP and does not appear in the Mandalika MotoGP, but the Italian racer has a special mark in racing events, including in Indonesia. Rossi’s big name has become a magnet for MotoGP fans in Indonesia.
However, just one season before the Mandalika MotoGP race made his debut as the host, Rossi had already declared his retirement.
There is also no news about Rossi’s arrival to Indonesia to watch the Mandalika MotoGP, but what is certain is that the VR46 Racing Team belonging to the collector of nine world titles will appear.
Luca Marini and Marco Bezzecchi are the two VR46 riders in their debut season in MotoGP.
Mandalika MotoGP Special Position for Valentino Rossi Revealed
VR46 is actually not a new team and has been present since 2014 in the Moto3 class, but in the MotoGP class this is the first time it has raced.
If the VR46 team is undergoing its debut season at the Mandalika MotoGP, then Rossi has also started his career as a racer by paving at Sentul.
26 years ago, Rossi had his first season in the 125cc class. Similar to this year, in 1996 the race in Indonesia became the second series.
The difference is that the drivers started the opening session in Malaysia, not in Qatar. Rossi, who first appeared in Sentul riding an Aprilia motorbike, started in 18th position.

Then Rossi finished 11th and took home five points. The racer nicknamed The Doctor was still a 125 cc racer when he raced at the Sentul Circuit a year later. The second time appearing in Sentul, Rossi stood on the highest podium. Rossi also finished the season as world champion in 1997.
