The team from Working showed plenty of promise during the testing session in Barcelona. However, their fortunes took a turn in Bahrain. They struggled for pace in the Gulf and ended up scoring only 6 points at the end of 2 races. Australia would have certainly provided a much-needed boost for McLaren as they aim to top the midfield battle.

McLaren Team Principal Andreas Seidl revealed the car is seeking some upgrades in the upcoming races. It will certainly please the McLaren fans after a disappointing start to the season.

In the F1 Nation podcast, Andreas Seidl expressed his disappointment and stated the team has some upgrades in place. He said, “I think we have a package which was able to fight for top 10 positions at every race because I think Bahrain was just a very special race weekend for us because we lost all the laps before when we couldn’t do the test. But, still, it’s obviously not where we want to be.”

The German also admitted that they will need some time, but he is certain that McLaren will bounce back after a poor start. He added, “We want to have a more competitive package, but we are working on it and I’m confident that with a bit of time we will come back.“
