So sad! Stephen Curry may not…
The Golden State Warriors officially have a first-round postseason opponent: the Denver Nuggets.
But the Dubs don’t have anything official to offer on the status of Stephen Curry, who’s been out since March 16 with a foot injury.
Curry’s health — whether he’s able to play, and play at a high level — is the key question for Golden State in the lead-up to this matchup of the No. 3 and No. 6 seeds. Game 1 is scheduled for Saturday, April 16, meaning Curry has the rest of the week to further heal up. It’s not clear whether that’ll be enough time.
After previously optimistic updates from ESPN (whose star reporter Adrian Wojnarowski has been remarkably off-base on his Curry reporting of late), it no longer sounds like a near-certainty that Curry will play in Game 1. Head coach Steve Kerr was noncommittal on Curry’s status on Sunday.
