Just like the rest of the NBA world, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James was in awe of Ja Morant after his clutch heroics for the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 5 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Aside from his incredible dunk that made waves throughout the sports world, Morant also snatched the victory for the Grizzlies with his game-winning layup as the clock winded down. With just 3.7 seconds left and the game tied at 109-109, Memphis gave the ball to their superstar guard and let him do his magic.
Sure enough, Morant didn’t disappoint and attack the basket with ferocity to give them the lead with one second left.
LeBron James, who is enjoying the offseason early, quickly took to Twitter to react to the incredible win. However, he was at a loss for words and simply wrote Ja Morant’s name.
It was undoubtedly a remarkable performance from Morant, who did more than just score the game-winner. While he looked out of sorts as the Timberwolves led by as much as 13 points at one point, he stepped up when it mattered most. The 22-year-old guard actually scored 18 in the final quarter, including the team’s final 13 points.

Morant finished with 30 points, 13 rebounds, nine assists and three steals. The Grizzlies are now up 3-2 in the series as well with a legitimate chance to close things out in Minnesota when they play Game 6.

Considering the thrilling encounter in Game 5, James will likely be one of the millions of viewers who’ll be watching that contest. Hopefully, though, his playoffs curse won’t be in full effect.
