Rafael Nadal, the Spanish tennis ace, is one of the greatest players of this generation. Nadal alongside Federer and Djokovic have been three of the best players to step onto a tennis court.
However, his career isn’t all about success, as he has suffered his fair share of hardships. Nadal has been struggling with a persistent foot issue since almost the start of his career. The Spaniard recently opened up about the severity of the injury. After embracing his 22nd Grand Slam title in France, Nadal spoke about the State his injury and his plans of pursuing medical treatment for the same.
The World No.5 started the treatment in Barcelona after winning his 14th French Open title on 5th June. He recently gave an update about the condition of his foot. Nadal said, “We will know in a few days. I don’t feel anything right now.” However, it is still unclear if he requires more medical help or the initial treatment will be enough.

Nadal’s foot injury is a rare degenerative condition known as the Mueller-Weiss syndrome. The syndrome causes spontaneous osteonecrosis in the navicular bone, which is located in the mid-foot region. Thus causing pain and deformity in the mid-foot and hind-foot regions.
