Jason Kidd says Luka Doncic is similar to LeBron James and Kobe Bryant because he leads his team to victory and never complains.
Luka Doncic once again paved the way for the Dallas Mavericks’ win on Saturday night, as the Mavs achieved a 121-100 victory over the host New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
Doncic, who entered Saturday leading the NBA in scoring at 33.6 points per game, scored 19 of his 30 points in the third quarter before sitting out the fourth. He had 30 or more points for the 16th time this season.
After the match, coach Jason Kidd compared the Slovenian wunderkind to NBA all-time greats like Lebron James and the late Kobe Bryant.
“He is one of one. He has a lot in the sense of LeBron. He’ll tell you that he can jump like LeBron, too,” Kidd joked and continued in a serious manner. “With his IQ, he competes and wants to win, and that’s what makes him special.
You can look at LeBron, you can look at Kobe, you can look at the greats that will lead their team to victory and never complain, and that’s what we all love about Luka. He doesn’t complain, he just goes out there, and tries to find a way to help his team win,” Kidd added.

The Mavs coach then provided a solution to keep Doncic fresh this season and make sure he is ready for the playoffs.
“We’ll just put him in a freezer. I think we bought one for the airplane. We’ll see if he can fit in it,” Kidd said with a smile on his face.
“He is special. He loves to compete and is honest if he’s tired. He’s taken care of his body and wants to win and help the team,” the 49-year-old added.
Doncic, 23, is averaging 33.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 8.6 assists over 21 games.
