NBA Twitter erupts as Stephen Curry’s fans drag Kevin Durant over his…
The Brooklyn Nets are on a rampage and don’t seem to have any plans to stop until they have conquered the NBA Finals. The Nets have won 21 games out of the 33 they have played so far and recently won eight games in a row. Furthermore, they made history by being the third team to score 91 points within the first half of the game. They are now fourth in the Eastern Conference only behind the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Two-time NBA champion Kevin Durant is visibly in his best form and proving to be a huge asset for the franchise. While his on-court ventures have been commendable, the Nets forward recently found himself under a negative spotlight for a particular question he had answered. A quick Q&A session with Kevin Durant bought massive backlash to the Brooklyn Nets superstar.
Following the Brooklyn Nets’ victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, a short video of Kevin Durant was uploaded on Twitter, making him the primary target of criticism. During a brief Q&A round with Boardroom, the interviewer asked KD a series of questions that were mostly related to basketball. In one instance, the interviewer asked Durant who he thought was the ‘Mount Rushmore’ of NBA Twitter. In response, KD answered that it was him with four different expressions. This particular answer was enough to bring in the wrath of the Twitterati.

Evidently, fans did not agree with the Nets player’s answers. Some felt that Durant was egoistic and needed to beat certain NBA superstars such as LeBron James and Stephen Curry to be able to prove his claims. Here are a few of the tweets.
too much ego for a player who HASN'T BEAT Stephen Curry and LeBron James (without Steph) in his ENTIRE playoff career.
beat Steph, LeBron, and Giannis in the offs first before talking like a God.

Giannis' 1 chip worth more than KD's 2. And its not close. Imagine Giannis joining Miami or Toronto after they beat him in the playoffs.

Since joining the league, the 12x NBA All-Star has played for three teams so far and has had several immensely talented teammates. During the Q&A, Boardroom asked Durant who he thought was the nicest teammate he ever had. In response, Durant said it was Nazr Mohammed, his former Oklahoma City Thunder teammate. Surely, KD had his reasons to name the 2005 NBA champion. However, the answer does come as a surprise, given that he had just recently talked about his close bond with his former teammates from the Golden State Warriors.

During an interview with Michael Lee from The Washington Post, Durant was asked about his emotions when the Warriors won the 2022 NBA Championship. The former Warriors superstar replied that he was happy for his former teammates.
“That’s my family over there. I can be a Brooklyn Net and y’all can be the Golden State Warriors, and it’ll still be love…When they succeed, I succeed, because I’m a part of that history forever,” Durant told WP.
