Patrick Beverley has been drifting between NBA teams throughout his entire career. He did reasonably well playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves but not so much for the LA-based teams. Neither the Clippers nor the Lakers fans had a good experience with him in terms of results.
But his most recent tenure with the Lakers left Patrick Beverley with a bad aftertaste. He decided to go after the entire organization and LeBron James. Pat Bev felt disrespected because nobody listened to his suggestions that could’ve improved the team.

Since he arrived at the Chicago Bulls right after the trade deadline, the team is currently 8-4 with Pat Bev inside the court. Naturally, Beverley is feeling proud of this new chapter in his career but he also kept all receipts from his time with the Lakers. As it turns out, he wasn’t having a great time during his time there and felt like the perfect scapegoat.
In his podcast, Pat Bev said: “Yeah we should do this on defense… ‘nah we cool, we cool… nah we gotta rotate’… Bron what do you mean we gotta rotate, you ain’t even playing… They don’t listen to me… You gotta go through the first-year coach, the LeBron, the AD, the Russ, then it gets to me. You don’t hear my s- the way you should hear my s-.”
Pat Bev says his time with Lakers was frustrating.

Does Patrick Beverley have a point?
From the moment he played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, there were a few moments where we got to know the real Patrick Beverley. Getting that job as a pundit for ESPN also gave us a glimpse into what goes on inside Patrick Beverley’s mind. Many Lakers fans and even some players struggled to take him seriously because of that attitude. However, Pat Bev is an NBA-level defensive player. There is no doubt he can help make a difference as long as he focuses on playing the game. Making enemies through a microphone is never the best idea, right?
