Bubba Wallace to lose His Job After Kyle Larson Fiasco
Sunday’s race at the Circuit of The Americas ended early for 23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace. After being involved in a crash on lap 11, Wallace’s #23’s rear got into Kyle Larson’s #5, leading to a broken toe link. Moreover, a few other mechanical issues made their way into his car, forcing him to end his day at COTA.
After finishing in the 37th position, the 23XI driver was obviously upset with his third DNF in the 2023 season. However, the most surprising part was his interview after the race. Harshly criticizing himself, Wallace was frustrated by his performance. Claiming that he did not want to go down the slippery road of self-doubt, he said, “Two weeks in a row of making rookie mistakes six years into Cup? Need to be replaced.”
Unfortunately, that does reek of self-doubt. And it looks like the frustrated driver was making an emotional plea to his team owners to fire him and replace him with someone better.
And pointing out the same, veteran NASCAR driver and YouTuber Kenny Wallace expressed his disappointment with Wallace’s choice of words.
During the Kenny Wallace Show, the veteran NASCAR driver discussed Bubba Wallace’s post-race interview. Troubled by Bubba’s harsh criticism, Kenny suggested how the 23XI Racing driver can work on himself.

He said, “Bubba cannot talk like that. Now listen, it’s very clear that Bubba deals in depression. I get that. Okay. So, here’s my take on this, Bubba needs a life coach with him at the race track.”
Furthermore, Kenny emphasized the severity of Bubba Wallace’s statements. Citing that his words hold the power of impacting others around him, he explained, “When Bubba says I need to be replaced, that’s strong! That’s strong!”
“McDonald’s does not wanna hear that. Doordash – they don’t wanna hear that. Michael Jordan of all people does not wanna hear that.”
