Denny Hamlin isn’t having a season he’d have wanted or his fans would’ve wanted or his team would’ve wanted. He’s winless in the 8 races so far this season with the recent Bristol dirt race being another entry into the list of disappointing finishes from the veteran this year.

During the recent episode of his podcast show, Hamlin’s co-host Jared Allen asked him about what went wrong at the end, his 22nd place finsih, considering he moved up to 9th-1oth place during one of the restarts.
“I was 7th because we stayed out, we stayed out at the end of Stage 2,” Hamlin replied. He added it was so because they were stuck in 22nd or 24th places, and “could not go anywhere,” so they stayed out and ended up in 7th position.
Even though the #11 driver got as high as 7th during the race, he simply could not capitalize on it. Because even though he was in a competitive position, he simply couldn’t compete for the win, for one simple reason – his racecar.

It drove totally different at the end of the race than it did at the mid point,” he claimed. “I just think I hit so many things with tires and wheels that I had no front end left that my car was eliminated on speed.”
